How we work

One method. Four kinds of outcome.

Whether the goal is a contract, a business, a launch or a grant, the work follows the same four steps, and you know where it stands at each one.

The four steps

  1. 01

    Find

We look widely and early: tenders, businesses for sale, programs and gaps in the market.

  2. 02

    Qualify

We test each opportunity against your capacity, your goals and the rules, and tell you plainly whether it is worth pursuing.

  3. 03

    Win or structure

We build the submission, the deal or the plan to the standard it will be judged against.

  4. 04

    Deliver

We stay through award, closing or launch, and bring in the right professionals where they are needed.

Our standards

  1. Decide before you write.

Every engagement starts with a clear decision on whether the opportunity is worth pursuing.

  2. Work to the criteria.

We start from how the work will be judged: the evaluation grid, the lender's checklist or the program guide.

  3. Show the working.

Assumptions, sources and risks are written down, so you can test them.

  4. Keep confidence.

One firm per tender, client names only with permission, and information shared only when it should be.

  5. Stay in our lane.

Where legal, immigration, tax, securities or professional engineering judgement is needed, it comes from a licensed professional.

Working with partners

Some outcomes need licensed expertise. We work alongside lawyers, accountants, regulated immigration consultants, professional quantity surveyors and other specialists. We bring them in at the right point, and we coordinate the work so you deal with one team.

Surbiton does not provide legal, immigration, securities or tax advice. Where an engagement needs it, we work alongside licensed professionals.

A short first conversation is usually enough to see whether we can help, and how. If we are not the right fit, we will say so.
